QuboAutonomous underwater vehicle for the RoboSub competition. Our longest-running project, in continuous development since 2006.
It shoots torpedoes.
Qubo navigates RoboSub's underwater obstacle courses with computer vision and sensor fusion, manipulates objects with its claw, dropper, and (yes) torpedo systems, and holds neutral buoyancy at depths of up to thirty feet.
Internationally competitive.
Semifinalists in RoboSub 2024. Tested in NBRF, the only university-run neutral buoyancy tank in the country used for spaceflight research.
Origins older than the iPhone.
Qubo, the current robot, is the successor to the old Tortuga base (est. 2006) in 2014, iterated over every season since.
